01Where it began

One idea became a whole category.

Sweepa® natural rubber products have been sold worldwide for more than 35 years, and in 1992 our own factory was established in Sri Lanka. What began as a single idea, that natural rubber could clean better than anything else on the market, became the reference point for an entire category.

Natural rubber is the right material for the work. It is flexible enough to follow uneven surfaces, resilient enough to return to its shape after every stroke, and durable enough to keep performing long after synthetic alternatives have worn out. It does not flake, it does not lose its sweep, and it holds up to years of daily use. That combination of performance and longevity is why it was chosen over the synthetic options available, and why it has never been replaced.

Every Sweepa® product is manufactured in Sri Lanka, where the company works alongside local small-crop farming families who grow the rubber. The relationship is long-term and steady, and that steadiness is the point. Consistent work means the farmers and plantation workers who tap and process the rubber can plan around it, supporting families, schools, and the wider community, year after year.
